Installing Objects

You will need a program to unzip all files. Some examples for Windows are 7zip, winzip, unrar. Some examples for OSX are The Unarchiver and ZiPeg.

All objects should be placed in your /My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads folder. For recolors of Maxis objects you will need the CEP. Please be sure to follow the installation instructions that are included with the CEP downlaod. Any questions regarding CEP should be addressed at the official CEP site.

Sims2 packs should be double-clicked, the installer will place in the appropriate folders. Lots also come in the sims2.package format and should be double-clicked to install. Some lots contain fileshare-friendly custom content. If you do not want this I would recommend using a program such as Clean Installer to remove what you do not want.

Walls, Floors, and Terrains come in the examplename.package format. These just need to be placed in your downloads folder. If they are in the sims2pack format use the Maxis Installer to install.
